The Commodore Hotel and many of the individual rooms are named for Commodore Oliver Hazard Perry, a naval officer, hero of the War of 1812, and namesake of Perry County - designated by the Tennessee General Assembly on Nov. 14, 1819. A replica of his famous “Don’t give up the ship” battle flag hangs as a welcoming banner in the entrance of the Commodore.

"I really enjoyed getting drinks at the bar and trading stories with the locals. The owners lit a fire for us to wind down our evening. Great time"
